Integration of phase detection pixels into the advanced sensor lets the XQ2 achieve the world's fastest* AF speed of 0.06 seconds. The on-sensor phase detection AF which brings subjects into focus in an instant. Thanks to the synergy of phase detection AF and contrast AF bringing you precision even in low light, your subject can be captured quickly and accurately in many settings. In AF-C mode, the new Multi-Target "Multi AF" mode automatically selects up to 9 focus areas and, combined with face-detection functions, enhances precision and speed for the ultimate in focusing accuracy.

XQ2 quickly responds to your inspiration in shooting

The high-performance "EXR Processor II" image processing engine speeds up the shooting response time. With a start-up time of 0.99 seconds, shooting interval of 0.3 seconds and shutter time lag of 0.015 seconds, responsive performance competitive to that of DSLR cameras supports smooth photography.

Maximum High-Speed Continuous Shooting Speed of 12.0 fps (max. approx. 9 frames)

The XQ2 features high-speed continuous shooting that lets you capture both movement and your best shot possible.

A continuous shooting speed of up to 12.0 fps (continuous shooting of approx. 9 frames** ) with a full 12 million pixels resolution has been achieved. It is effective when you want to capture constantly moving subjects such as children and pets, and when you want to choose the best shot from a series of photos. While in low-speed continuous shooting mode, AF continuous shooting is possible at a maximum of 4.7 fps, continuously and accurately focusing on moving subjects.

Fujinon lens with bright F1.8 aperture produces stunning pictures in low light

The bright F1.8 lens lets you capture high quality pictures not normally possible with a compact camera. Noise is kept to a minimum without boosting sensitivity, while camera shake and subject motion are prevented when using high shutter speeds. And thanks to the large aperture, you can also create attractive "bokeh" blurred background effects.

Featuring state-of-the-art technology, including aspherical elements and high refractive index glass, the FUJIFILM XQ2's lens boasts a fast F1.8 maximum aperture and a slim profile that would be virtually impossible with conventional lens designs. Another important feature is Optical Image Stabilization, which shifts one group of four elements to minimize camera shake without compromising resolution around the edges of the image, a common problem with conventional stabilization systems.

The XQ2's slim-line lens achieves its aperture of F1.8 with a construction that features 7 lens elements in 6 groups (4 aspherical and 3 extra low dispersion lenses).

3 ED lenses have been employed for their low dispersion and effective reduction of chromatic aberrations. By preventing color fringing and reducing contrast, the FUJIFILM XQ2 lens captures images with superb accuracy across the zoom range from wide angle to telephoto.

With its built-in 3.0-stop*** optical (lens shift type) image stabilization function, the FUJIFILM XQ2 will correct your image for any blurring that occurs when photographing moving objects. You will capture a clear image without blurring in all kinds of scenes.

High-Transmittance EBC

High Transmittance EBC (Electron Beam Coating) is FUJINON's unique wide-band technology developed for FUJINON broadcast-use lenses. The FUJIFILM XQ2 is the first compact camera to use the High Transmittance EBC for both sides of all glass lenses. Because highly refractive glass bends light rays more sharply than conventional optical glass, it creates greater potential for reflections which can cause ghosting and flare. HT-EBC technology effectively minimizes this stray light, assuring sharp, clear images even under the most demanding conditions.

Seven-blade aperture diaphragm and 3cm macro

With a maximum aperture of F1.8 at the wide angle setting and a seven-blade aperture diaphragm, the FUJIFILM XQ2's lens delivers beautiful defocused blur. Together with macro capabilities to within just 3cm of your subject, that means huge photographic potential in a highly compact body.
